





Masa Tlalim is partnering with Magen David Adom to open a volunteer opportunity for those who wish to gain valuable hands-on experience in emergency situations and collaborate with Israeli counterparts. During the program, participants will complete an 10-day first responders’ course prior to volunteering on an ambulance.
This comprehensive program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide critical care when every second counts. By participating in this program, you will make a tangible impact on the lives of others while immersing yourself in the beauty and culture of Israel. After the events of October 7th, volunteering has never been more crucial, and your involvement can truly make a difference.

Volunteering in Israel after October 7th holds immense importance. It's a chance to stand in solidarity with the people of Israel during challenging times and contribute to the country's resilience and strength. Your four-week commitment will have a lasting impact on the lives of soldiers, communities, and individuals in need.

Learn from experienced professionals and expert instructors who are dedicated to your success. Gain practical experience through hands-on training sessions, simulations, and real-life scenarios on ambulances. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive certification as a first responder.

Participants live in furnished apartments in Haifa, Be’er Sheva or Netanya . In addition, an unlimited monthly bus pass and basic health insurance for non-pre-existing conditions are provided.

Volunteering participants have access to many unique benefits that promote building a connection to Israel as well as growing their community. Engage with your peers from all the world, tour new destinations around Israel and locally organized social activities will connect you to Israeli society.

Since being founded 87 years ago, Magen David Adom has been working tirelessly to provide medical care, treat the injured, and help those in need by providing life-saving assistance. Mada has various responsibilities beyond first-response aid, offering opportunities for professional training of future caregivers, and organizing blood-donations. Starting originally with only one ambulance, today Mada has grown into one of the largest Emergency Medical Services and has 143 stations country wide.

While our participants have some free time within the week, all programming and volunteering is mandatory.
These programs are generously subsidized by the Masa grant (if you are eligible). Without the grant, the cost of the 4-week programs is $2800 USD and the 6-week programs is $4300 USD. With the grant, the 4-week sessions cost $150 USD and the 6-week sessions cost $350 USD.
You should also expect to pay for your own food expenses as well as your flights.
While there may be some meals which we provide, all participants must expect to pay for their own food while on the program.
Our programs are Shabbat friendly, which means individuals are able to observe Shabbat as they see fit. However, please expect that you may have roommates who do not keep shabbat.
We provide additional kitchen equipment for those who keep kosher.
We ask that everyone be mindful and considerate of each other’s practices.
We provide fully furnished, shared accommodations for our participants. You can expect to share a room with a maximum of 2 other people.

Be’er Sheva is known as the capital of the Negev Desert. Located at the northern tip of the Negev Desert, Be’er Sheva is also one of Israel’s fastest growing cities. Home to Soroka Hospital, which serves as the central hospital of the region and provides medcial services to approximately one million residents of the South. Be’er Sheva has a large student population from Ben Gurion University and a vibrant culture for young adults. With the vibrant culture for young adults, the area around the university has a college town feel, filled with entertaining nightlife. Be’er Sheva also has a large immigrant population and many Bedouin communities in the nearby areas making it a hub for coexistence.
Located only 30 minutes north of Tel Aviv, Netanya serves as a vital social and economic link between the northern and southern parts of Israel. Netanya is home to many start-ups and hi-tech companies. Immigrants make up 35% of the population, mostly coming from France and Ethiopia.
With its seemingly never-ending promenades, Netanya’s nine miles of white sand beaches, wild cliffs, and green parks rank among the most beautiful in the world.
