Masa Israel Teaching Fellows

6-Month Program

Program  Description

The 6-month Masa Israel Teaching Fellows program offers a shorter immersive opportunity to live and teach in Israel while contributing to local communities. Participants teach English in public schools and experience Israeli life through daily routines, relationships, and cultural engagement. The program provides a meaningful way to live abroad, gain professional experience, and connect deeply with Israeli society in a condensed timeframe.

Program  Overview

Participants are placed in Haifa, Netanya, Be’er Sheva, or Jerusalem and teach English in public schools approximately 20–25 hours per week. Fellows live in shared apartments in residential neighborhoods and become part of everyday life, from commuting and shopping locally to engaging with community events and traditions. No Hebrew is required, and participants gain language skills naturally through immersion.

About  Our Locations

jerusalem:

The city where past and present meet. Established over 3,000 years ago, the city of Jerusalem offers you the chance to literally reach out and touch the past. Known as the city of gold, Jerusalem is a magical mix of ancient and modern, where outdoor shuks (markets) rub shoulders with gleaming office towers. The city’s most popular spots include a vibrant downtown with world-class restaurants and shopping, and the Old City, a maze of winding alleyways and colorful markets enclosed by walls dating back to the 16th century.

Be’er Sheva:

Be’er Sheva  is known as the capital of the Negev Desert. Located at the northern tip of the Negev Desert, Be’er Sheva is also one of Israel’s fastest growing cities. Home to Soroka Hospital, which serves as the central hospital of the region and provides medcial services to approximately one million residents of the South. Be’er Sheva has a large student population from Ben Gurion University and a vibrant culture for young adults. With the vibrant culture for young adults, the area around the university has a college town feel, filled with entertaining nightlife. Be’er Sheva also has a large immigrant population and many Bedouin communities in the nearby areas making it a hub for coexistence.

Netanya

Located only 30 minutes north of Tel Aviv, Netanya serves as a vital social and economic link between the northern and southern parts of Israel. Netanya is home to many start-ups and hi-tech companies. Immigrants make up 35% of the population, mostly coming from France and Ethiopia.
With its seemingly never-ending promenades, Netanya’s nine miles of white sand beaches, wild cliffs, and green parks rank among the most beautiful in the world.

haifa

Haifa is Israel’s third largest city and one of its most beautiful and multicultural. Haifa has gorgeous beaches, scenic views from Mount Carmel, and forests perfect for hiking. It is the home of the magnificent Bahai Gardens and Temple, theaters, concert halls, restaurants, and museums. Two of Israels leading universities, the University of Haifa and the Technion, are located in Haifa, giving the city a vibrant student life and lively nightlife.
